Evaluation of joint swelling is an important part of the orthopedic examination and can be used to follow a patient?s progress during rehabilitation and therapy. Usually a swelling is assessed by palpating the joint but a more objective, but still easy to use, method would be preferable.This study seeks to increase the knowledge in veterinary rehabilitation by validating four different measurement tools (three recognized and one novel) for the assessment of elbow joint swelling: palpation, tape measure (circumference and figure eight measurement), Slide caliper (craniocaudal and mediolateral positioning) and tonometer. This was achieved by calculating the inter- and intra-rater reliability and correlating the results from the different measurements with each other.The methods with best inter- and intra-rater reliability as well as good correlation among themselves were shown to be Slide caliper with craniocaudal positioning, circumference and figure eight. Additional studies, with a larger and more diverse material, ought to investigate these methods further..

Jag har alltid uppskattat och sett upp till elgitarrister som kan spela slide men har av någon anledning aldrig själv utforskat spelsättet särskilt grundligt. I denna studie har jag därför valt att utforskat slidegitarrens musikaliska möjligheter på ett djupare plan.Målet har varit att lära mig mer om vad slidens involverande i elgitarrspelet möjliggör och hur slidegitarren kan användas i olika sammanhang. För att undersöka detta har jag fritt utforskat slidens möjligheter och sedan skapat tre låtar för att där använda mig av mina upptäckter.Jag har upptäckt hur sliden kan användas som specialeffekt, vilka likheter det finns mellan sång och slide och hur detta samband går att utnyttja, hur öppna stämningar av gitarren påverkar slidespelet samt hur sliden kan involveras i det vanliga gitarrspelet..

The car industry is facing harder environmental requirements, which influence the brakedevelopment. The focus is to develop brakes with low drag and sustained brake feeling andperformance. Important characters for the brake caliper are high stiffness and low weight, highstiffness results in high performance and low weight is important because it is unsprung mass.This thesis investigates the possibility to improve the performance of the brake caliper for aGMproject.

Denna rapport behandlar mitt examensarbete som genomfördes i samarbete med HaldexBrake AB. Haldex Brake AB håller på och utvecklare en ny generation broms åt lastbilar.Uppdraget bestod av tre delar. Att ta fram lösningsförslag som säkerhetsställer beläggjärnetsplacering i förhållande ett beläggjärn så kallad Cross-beam. Att säkerställa att bultar monterasmed rätt åtdragningsmoment på 230Nm. Den sista tredjedelen av arbetet bestod i attpresentera lösningar som helt eller delvis eliminerar oljud, när olika komponenter med spel,slår i delar i okhuset.I projektet har flera olika principkonstruktioner tagits fram och genom Freddy Olssonutvärderingsmallar har sedan en primärkonstruktion utarbetats fram.I dem andra två resterande projektdelarna belyses lösningarna väldigt generellt av denanledningen att det kräver specialkomponenter..

I maj 2007 köpte Ögonkliniken på Blekingesjukhuset in en 3D OCT-1000 av märket Topcon. Hos denna OCT-apparat finns en mätfunktion, Caliper, som mäter näthinnetjocklek. Studien i denna rapport syftade till att ta reda på vad Caliper mäter, hur den mäter och om den går att lita på.

In this thesis a concept for floor hatches for foam pits has been developed. Since there is an existing solution that is powered by hydraulics and is expensive, the goal was to develop a cheaper solution, as simple as possible.A number of different concepts were developed and evaluated. A concept with five sections that are pulled to the side and stacked on each other was chosen as it was thought to have the lowest risk of crush injuries and to be easiest to manage and control. In the opening behind the foam mattress a lifting table is placed to regulate the height of the stacked sections.To be allowed to be installed in the floor of sports halls the sections must be dimensioned according to the construction standards for these types of buildings. Different dimensions of beams in steel and wood materials were evaluated and of those, who lived up to the requirements of the standard, a concept was chosen.

I denna studie utvärderades tre olika mätmetoder för att bedöma en eventuell ledsvullnad i armbågsleden hos 18 hundar. Metoderna som utvärderas var palpation, mätning med skänkelmått samt mätning med måttband. Syftet med studien var att bestämma inter- och intrareliabiliteten för ovan nämnda metoder. Anledningen till att detta är av intresse är att den metod som framför allt används idag för att bedöma ledsvullnad är palpation, vilken har visat sig vara en inte helt tillförlitlig metod. Inom veterinärmedicinsk rehabilitering behövs idag mer objektiva sätt att mäta ledsvullnad för att på ett bättre sätt kunna utvärdera olika behandlingsmetoder så väl som det kliniska rehabiliteringsarbetet.

Syftet med detta arbete har varit att underso?ka hur musiker inom den afroamerikanska musiktraditionen ser pa? sitt musikaliska la?rande. Deltagarna har haft olika musikaliska bakgrunder sa? som la?tskrivare, frilansmusiker och instrumentalla?rare. Underso?kningen tar sin teoretiska utga?ngspunkt ur ett kulturpsykologsikt perspektiv da?r synen pa? la?rande ses som en process som utvecklas mellan individer i en lokalt ra?dande kultur.

The purpose of this study was to investigate what attracts children to activity and movement on the playground in a central and municipal preschool in a town located in middle of Sweden. The method was to use a qualitative group interview with five children, two girls and three boys, at the age of five. The interview consisted of a general question about what kids think is fun to do on the playground and was complemented with follow-up questions depending on what the children said. A qualitative interview with a preschool teacher and observations were carried out in the hope that they would confirm what children claimed about play and movement. This study showed a gender difference when girls like to swing together while the boys are making the swinging for a contest.

Elitskon? is a new type of horseshoe for trotters. It is supposed to give the horse a trot that mimics the movement pattern of a horse trotting unshod. Many horses show a better trot unshod but this can only be used to a limited extent due to the great wear and tear of the hoof. The objective of this study was to evaluate whether the qualities of Elitskon? are similar to the unshod horse or the traditional aluminium horseshoe.

Beacon AB has been producing Gobos for some time. A Gobo is a small round sheet used in projectors almost like a slide. It is used mostly in the commercial and entertainment business. Today these Gobos are created by using a film (also called mask). A digital exposure machine called LIOS has been developed to make it possible to create Gobos using direct exposure.

This degree project has been performed along with Classic Garden in Gothenburg andBallongfirman Far & Flyg in Stockholm. Together we have developed a sun- wind- andrain protection. The protection is permanently assembled and mainly intended for publicenvironments as restaurants and outdoor cafés.The design on the sun protection was already done so our task has been to develop theconstruction and to build a prototype in scale 1:4 and one in scale 1:1. The look of thesun protection is approximately as the name implies, equal an igloo. The lamellae aregoing to fold out in different steps all the way down to the ground and the both sides willbe independently of each other.The first stage in the project was to develop differently principle proposal on how thefunction will work when folding in and out the protection.
